Client’s Brief
The Client’s brief was to extend the changing rooms and social facilities within the existing ‘footprint’ of the Clubhouse, without compromising the existing court space.
Scope of Works
The scope of works was a complete refurbishment of the existing facilities and extending the Building Fabric at Ground and First Floor levels. The Club remained open during the construction phase, requiring careful programming and attention to health and safety issues (see drawings attached).
Professional Team
The Architect was Gary Treadwell RIBA of GJT Architects and the Quantity Surveyor, Contract Administrator and CDM Co-ordinator was Graham Ellis, MRICS of Graham Ellis Associates.
Programme
The construction programme was for 14 weeks.
Summary
The contract was completed on time, within budget and to a high standard of workmanship.
Gary Treadwell and GEA were congratulated by the Directors of the Squash club for their professionalism during the procurement and construction phases and for agreeing the Final Account within one month of Practical Completion.

Budget/Contract Sum
The budget at feasibility stage was set at £160,000 for the construction works. The works were competitively tendered using the JCT Minor Works Contract.
The most competitive tender received was from County Construction Limited whose bid after analysis by GEA was agreed at £151,634.00.
